Cheryl’s Salsa
This is a combined recipe from my Sister and Mom. They are both great cooks.
- 5 lbs tomatoes peeled
- 2 large onions
- 1 large red pepper
- 2 large green peppers
- 6 cloves garlic
- 1 cup finely chopped celery
Place in stock pot and bring to boil. Simmer one hour.
Add:
- 1 tsp hot chilli peppers
- 1 small hot banana pepper or 3 jalepeno peppers
- 1/8 cup salt
- ½ cup vinegar
- 2 tblsp brown sugar
- 2 small tins tomato paste
Simmer 2 hours. Fill jars and process in canner 10 minutes.
