Pie Crust and Apple Pie
from my Aunt Kathy
Crust [for 3 pies]
- 1 pound Crisco
5 cups flour
1 ½ tsp salt
1-2 tsp baking powder
Break eggs into cup. Add 2 tsp vinegar. Fill cup with cold water.
Apple filling [for one pie]
- ¾ c. sugar
- ½ tsp cinnamon
- 1 tblsp flour
- 2 tblsp butter
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 4-5 cups sliced McIntosh apples
Roll out dough and add filling. Sprinkle top with a beaten egg and sugar. Bake 400 degrees F. 40-45 minutes
